An excellent tool for determining plant health and color. By assessing crop vigor with a GreenSeeker Crop Quest agronomists can locate areas of exceptional and/or poor crop vigor. The next step is to figure out what is aiding/limiting the crop in those areas and what can be done from a management perspective.
Typically GreenSeeker has been used to create in-season nitrogen recommendations for wheat. Research has also been ongoing in corn and sorghum. By comparing an N rich strip to the conventional fertility program an assessment of the crops potential nitrogen needs can be calculated. Recommendations for either uniform or variable rate applications can then be prescribed. In addition to the typical GreenSeeker uses, Crop Quest agronomists have also developed variable rate growth regulator prescriptions on cotton.
